Right from the time of post graduation, Geeta Menon had an innate desire to and the grit to question societal inequalities. Having co-founded Stree Jagruti Samiti in Mumbai, Geeta practically lived in the slums fighting for the not-haves - from education, housing, water to nutrition. Her goal is to fight for the cause of women who are labourers in construction sites, garment factories and more. Geeta has also been a front-runner in campaigning for the rights of domestic workers. Namma Bengaluru Foundation chose Geeta Menon for the Citizen Individual Awards in recognition and appreciation of her efforts.
