The police have found out that a jewellery group owner based in Kochi was behind the "fans" who raised slogans supporting Dileep at the court premises.
Though majority of the crowd booed and jeered Dileep while the actor was produced at the Angamaly first class magistrate court on Saturday evening, a section had raised slogans supporting him and also against the police. The actor waived at these fans when he left the court.
The Kochi police have now established that a jewellery group owner was behind this, though Asianet Newsable could not verify if it's the same brand that the actor endorses. A young film producer, who hails from Perumbavoor, was also part of the move, according to Manorama News.
It had also emerged that Dileep's camp has roped in a leading PR agency for damage control and to protect the actor's sagging image. The agency is believed to be very active on social media, trying to save his reputation from further deterioration, with pro-Dileep posts using hashtags, such as #ISupportDileep and #Dileepinoppam (with Dileep).
However, the police said they are not looking into it and there is nothing illegal in doing PR efforts.
