Here are the names of 10 candidates who fought for prized constituencies and lost the Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections 2017
Ajay Kapoor of the Congress with 77424 votes lost out to Mahesh Chandra from the BJP, in Kidwainagar
Aparna Yadav, Mulayam Singh Yadav's daughter-in-law lost out from Lucknow Cantt constituency with 61, 606 votes to BJPs Reeta Joshi who won 95, 402 votes.
BSP candidate Madhusudan Sharma was defeated by Pakshalika Singh (BJP) of the Bhadawar royal family. Singh polled in 80567 votes while Sharma managed 57427 votes from the Bah constituency.
Pankaj Kumar Malik of the Indian National Congress lost out to Tejendra Nirwal of the BJP. Nirwal secured 700085 votes as compared to Malik’s 40365.
Raghunandan Singh Bhadauria from the Bharatiya Janata Party lost out to Sohil Akthar Ansari of the Congress in the Kanpur Cantt constituency. Sohil secured 81169 votes while Singh got 71805 votes
In Bilaspur, Congress's sitting MLA Sanjay Kapoor was defeated by Baldev Singh Oulakh by nearly 12,000 votes. Kapoor had represented the Bilaspur constituency during the last two terms.
Samajwadi Party’s Rahul Yadav, Lalu Prasad Yadav's son-in-law contested from the Sikandrabad seat in Bulandshaher district but came in third with 48910 votes losing to winner BJP’s Bimla Singh Solanki who polled 104956 votes
In Dadri MLA Satveer Singh Gurjar of BSP got 61049 votes and lost to Tejpal Nagar of BJP with 141226
Shiv Bahadur Saxena of BJP was defeated by senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan by over 47,000 votes
In Aligarh Zafar Alam from Samajwadi Party lost out to BJP’s Sanjeev Raja. Sanjeev Raja won 113752 votes as compared to Alam who managed to secure 98312 votes
